They tend to steer clear from bodies of water, as so to not devastate the Pokemon living there with the countless volts of electricity in their bodies.

Only skilled Trainers can train Stundev because of their strong electrical power and their recklessness. Stundev hunt by laying underneath sand and then releasing electricity through its horns and spines all over its body into its unsuspecting prey.

"Stundev are lethargic, and spend the majority of their time laying on stones and basking in the sun.  Despite this, Stundev are mighty Pokemon, known to give of so much excess electrical energy that they can vaporize nearby water sources.  Now if only their trainers could get them to stop napping..."

Stundev uses it's static claws to paralyze the opponent and thanks to it's lighting rod it's opponent's paralysis could get hurt because it has a special stick trap

How about this "stundev are some of the only pokemon that can use technology. They find disregarded human technology and charge it with their own electrical charge."

Did you give them just the most useless abilities you could think of, or what?

You could at least give them Adaptability to match the theme, and balance the power by giving them lowered stats.

Also:
Motor Drive/Volt Absorb
Swift Swim/Water Absorb
Flare Boost/Heatproof/Flash Fire
Chlorophyll/Sap Sipper

Just to name a paltry few other options, if you want to keep the typing.

You could also use Color Change as a Secondary Ability for the evolved forms, with the flavor text:

"Though no longer as able to freely adapt themselves as Tadapt, some Stundev/Finzard/Amphyro/Riplade maintain a limited ability to alter their cells to be more resilient to attacks when they are threatened."

Stundev evolve from Tadapt when exposed to a Thunder Stone. Stundev surround their nests with scraps of metal in hopes of attracting electrical currents. Their homes are infamous for constantly getting struck by lightning.
